FREE Tax Preparation
The CASH Campaign of Southeastern New Hampshire is once again offering free tax preparation during tax season that focuses on securing Earned Income Tax Credit dollars for income eligible tax payers. According to the US Census Bureau, the Earned Income Tax Credit(EITC) has lifted more people above the poverty line than any other federal program. Yet, in Rockingham and Strafford Counties, an estimated $5.2 million goes unclaimed every year. In 2009, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and AARP Tax Aide sites helped individuals claim over $2.5 million in returns.
