Founded in 1877, Piscataqua Savings Bank has been a staple of the Seacoast financial sector for 135 years. Likewise, Piscataqua has been a long-time supporter of United Way. Their enthusiasm is evident in their employee campaigns, highlighted by a delicious tradition: the annual buffet breakfast. Essentially an early-morning potluck, the buffet breakfast is stocked with homemade dishes, brought in by the staff. This year’s feast included quiche, coffee cake, pumpkin bread and a bounty of other delicacies.
Prior to the breakfast, Rick Wallis, President & CEO of Piscataqua and Janet Guen, Senior Director of Resource Development for UWGS spoke to the gathered employees. Wrapping it up, Catherine Edison of Community Child Care talked about the type of work the campaign supports. Piscataqua invites a different agency each year.
And now the awesome news: this year’s employee campaign had a 13% increase in giving and they had (and have, over the years) one of the highest employee participation rates of any organization on the Seacoast. The Bank makes a very generous corporate contribution as well, joined by gifts from Piscataqua’s board members. Great job, once again!
