Direct Service Grants
United Way of the Greater Seacoast provides operating grants available to 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations in our region: Client Services Grants and Community Response Grants.In addition, United Way of the Greater Seacoast administers the following Federal grant program: Emergency Food and Shelter Grants - a national public/private funding program.
Strategic Impact Investments
In order to find long-term solutions, United Way of the Greater Seacoast has made a commitment to invest $50,000/year to further coalition work in these areas:
- Healthcare - working to increase access to healthcare for the uninsured and underinsured through pilot programs and public policy efforts
- Housing - advocating at the municipal level for zoning changes to encourage development of workforce/affordable housing for buyers and renters
- Transportation - development and implementation of shared ride transportation options for seniors, low-income citizens, and people with disabilities
- Substance Abuse - fiscal sponsorship, staff supervision and leadership to two regional coalitions working to reduce underage and binge drinking among youth age 12 to 34
