www.ysa.org/resources - Youth Service America provides a multitude of resources for youth, educators, service-learning coordinators, and others. These free materials, updated each year, include curriculum guides, tip sheets, and talking points that support the youth service movement.
KIDS & TEENS PAGE IDEALIST.ORG- The mission of Idealist.org this organization is to help build a world where all people can live free and dignified lives in a healthy environment. Their site has a lot of great information for teens - everything from definitions of "nonprofits" and "volunteerism," to information about issues like the environment, human rights, poverty and hunger. This site also includes information on some service organizations started by teens!
TEEN INK.COM - COMMUNITY SERVICE PAGE - Teen Ink is a website developed and written by teens. Their service page has some good information about various national service organizations and numerous links to volunteer resources for teens.
SERVENET.ORG - SERVEnet is a general website on service and volunteering. It has information on trends in youth service, statistics about youth service, and tips and resources for teen volunteers.
NATIONAL 4-H WEBSITE - CITIZENSHIP & CIVIC EDUCATION PAGE - 4-H is a national youth development organization. This page is a great resource on how to get involved politically to impact a cause in which you are interested.
PRUDENTIAL SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY INITIATIVE - This site contains volunteer tips for youth - what opportunity is right for you, do's & don'ts of successful volunteering, and great links! It also contains information about the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, which annually recognize students in middle and high school grades who have demonstrated exemplary community service.
